NSS Summer 2015 Bulletin

NSS Summer 2015 Bulletin - read online

Dear {{{salutation}}},

In our latest Bulletin you'll find a message from me on the importance of secularism in protecting human rights and of our equality laws in protecting everyone: a theme which runs through all aspects of our work. As well as an opportunity to inform members about our recent work, the Bulletin is a chance to look forward to the challenges and causes for hope in our future.

I'm excited that we can announce some of the details of how we'll be celebrating our 150th anniversary next year, including a major conference on secularism. It's important that we reflect on what the NSS has achieved and the role of religious privilege and secularism today. Perhaps even more importantly we will be looking to the future and the role secularism can play in working towards a freer and more equal shared society in an increasingly religiously diverse and increasingly non-religious Britain.

We hope you'll continue to be a part of that important work and everyone here at the NSS would like to thank you for your support. The work we do is only funded and only made possible by the generosity of people like you.

If you have skills to offer and have time to get more involved in the NSS you may be interested in volunteering for the NSS or – if you also have an understanding of good governance – standing for election to our Council of management when the nominations open. You can find out more at secularism.org.uk/council.

With best wishes
Terry Sanderson
President
