Michael Foot (1913 – 2010) was a British Labour politician and writer, who was a Member of Parliament from 1945 to 1955 and from a by-election in 1960 until 1992. He was also the Leader of the Opposition from 1980 to 1983.

He retired from the House of Commons in 1992 and is the author of several books, including the highly regarded biography of H.G. Wells.

Michael Foot was a committed secularist and humanist.
