An evening with Terry Sanderson exploring the extraordinary life and times of Marlene Dietrich – classic movie star, atheist war hero!

The show examines her fabulous movie career by accessing generous clips from her most famous films. Then, using rare archive footage the show looks at her medal-winning war work, when she rejected the Hitler regime and became an effective anti-Nazi. Her work was rewarded by the Medal of Homour - America's highest civilian award and from France the Legion d'Honneur. After the war she reinvented herself as a concert artist and her one-woman show wowed audiences around the world. The evening culminates with a big screen showing of Marlene's fantastic performance in Stockholm, as recorded by Swedish TV in 1963, accompanied by Burt Bacharach and his orchestra.
