Not receiving Newsline?

If you have subscribed to Newsline but have not received it, there may be a number of reasons.

When you subscribed, did you confirm your subscription by clicking on the link sent to you in an email?

If you have only recently subscribed, please wait up to one week for your subscription to take effect.

We have recently changed the way Newsline is sent out. Therefore, even if you have already trained your 'spam and 'junk' filters to receive Newsline, you may need to do this again.

Do you use Hotmail or Yahoo webmail? If so, they are probably automatically sending Newsline to your junk mail folder because they erroneously assume it is spam.

Hotmail users should go to http://www.hotmail.com and click on Frequently Asked Questions, then choose the link saying: 'How can MSN Hotmail help me to fight spammers?' This will explain how you can set your own 'Junk Mail Deletion Options' to allow the Newsline emails to reach you.

Yahoo users should visit http://help.yahoo.com/help/mail/ and click on the 'Bulk Mail Folder?' By following these instructions you can set up a filter to ensure Newsline isn't sent to the Bulk Mail Folder.

Do you use AOL? It appears that AOL often rejects emails that it considers spam without forwarding the email or informing the client. Tell AOL that you were expecting Newsline and ask them to check that they haven’t rejected it.

Do you work for an organisation that filters or censors your mail? If so, they may have identified Newsline as non-business-related and quarantined or deleted it. Check your organisation's policy on receiving non-business-related emails, speak to your IT administrator or consider setting up a web-based account.

Have you set up a spam filter yourself? Some of these will delete Newsline emails: check that your rules are not inadvertently treating Newsline as spam.

If none of these apply, email us at enquiries@secularism.org.uk and we will try to see where the problem is.

Also remember that Newsline is available on the website shortly following publication each Friday.
