BBC mulls NSS’s Thought for the Day complaint

The BBC Trust met yesterday to consider the NSS’s complaint about the discriminatory nature of the Thought for the Day programme.

We are now awaiting the outcome of its deliberations with bated breath. Several individuals also complained on various grounds about the programme. It is not clear when the adjudication will be announced.

Keith Porteous Wood, who has been vigorously pursuing this complaint said: “If the BBC continues to obdurately contend that this programme cannot be opened up to non-religious voices, then we would like to see it scrapped altogether. It is disgraceful that a publicly-funded corporation should be so blatantly biased in favour of sectarian views.”
